FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Here is a small list of some of the questions I'm often asked.. The list is not static and therefore continuously updated as questions are asked.
Where does the name Hladka come from?
My dear grandmother came originally from Poland. A area which is now Ukraine. When she came to Denmark to work she dragged her surname with her and the family kept it. Something I personally are happy and proud of.
The name can be traced back to the Viking Age and is related to the name Hladgert and Ladgerda (Lagertha). Hladka means one who are patching clothes (in Poland), while in old norse Hladgert means something like laces or fine headgear.

Inspiration
Where do you find your inspiration?
I find my inspiration MANY different places. My main themes are decay, childhood and nature. Thise are also the themes that most often characterizes my work.
I also find inspiration in animals, mirrors, photographs, dreams, books, anatomy, emotions, movies and much more. It's often a small detail that catches my eye and immediately the idea grows from the detail. The more clear the idea is in my head, the better the artwork becomes.
What artists inspire you?
There are many. Too many to write them all down, but here's a handful.
Caspar David Friedrich, Zdzisław Beksiński, Chris Mars, Fernando Vicente, Katerina Plotnikova, Jeremy Geddes, Michael Kvium, Victoria Reynolds, Andre Brito, Fritz Eichenberg, Nick Kushner, Kate Zambrano, Beth Cavener and many more.
What kind of music do you listen to when you paint?
A question I get surprisingly often. It's very different what I hear. It really depends on the mood, but I'm crazy about rock, folk, classical, medieval, Celtic and dubsteb.
Some of my favorite bands are: Marilyn Manson, Wardruna, Valravn, Eric Satie, Chelsea Wolfe, Agnes Obel, Nick Cave og Warren Ellis, Eivør, A Tribe Called Red and Faun.

Tattoo
Will you draw my next tattoo?
Mainly I woukd say no.
Since I have no knowledge of how a drawing behave and moves on the body, I think that it is best to go a skilled tattoo artist and let him or her draw for you. You will definitely get the best results that way.
Should you still feel like me to draw your next tattoo, you are welcome to make an order. Before you lies your order keep in mind the genre and tone in my artworks because it is the style I draw in. So if you want a tattoo of a pink panda I am not the right person to ask.
May I get a tattoo of one of your artworks?
Yes ! You are more than welcome to get my art tattooed on your own body. And send images if you can. Would love to se the result..
