LOUISE HLADKA

My name is Louise Hladka and I was born in 1988.
I grew up in Lolland where I live and work.

I've always been told that I am very creative and I can't disagree. Since I've been able to hold a pencil I've been drawing and I've always had the urge to create new worlds or improve things around me.  When I'm being creative I feel a deep inner happiness. If I stopped creating it would be the same as if I stopped breathing.

I enjoy the simple things in life and are in many ways probably what you would call old fashioned. I love country life and never want to change rural life with a cramped apartment in town. I need the open sky and nature right at my doorstep to breathe freely.

Nature has always been of great importance to me and it will always inflict the many things I do, whether it's paintings, illustrations or some of my other pursuits.
I like a lot of old crafts like Needle binding. A technique dating back to the Stone Age, or sitting in front of a spinning wheel and

listening to the soothing sound it gives while spinning yarns.

One thing that matters to me is my belief in the Nordic gods and natural powers. I feel that my belief links me even closer to nature and is a very strong and creative force. It does not rarely express itself directly in my paintings, but if you look for, you can see it.

FOLLOW ME ON MY PERSONAL BLOG

Should you be interested in following me on a more personal level, I have a blog for this purpose.
In my blog I write about my everyday life, the big questions of life, paganism, politics, modern gender roles (which I think should be broken) and many other topics that I face in everyday life and have to comment on.
You will also be able to read about art and creativity in general and how life forms for me.

I have called my blog Frigg's Daughter because Frigg is the All-Mother. Hopefully I'll soon become a mother too, so the name seemed so appropriate.

I hope to see you on the blog.
